Porsche congratulates Porsche Design on its golden jubilee, and in celebration of 50 years, has created two very special cars: the exclusive Porsche 911 Edition 50Y Porsche Design and a historical 911 S 2.4 Targa from the founding year of Porsche Design in 1972, which has been faithfully restored by Porsche Classic.
Uniting these celebration models is their colour scheme, which, in recalling the legendary Chronograph I designed by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1972, sees both the exterior and the interior dominated by the colour black. Alongside them, Porsche Design is also presenting a new, limited edition of the Chronograph 1 timepiece. The Porsche Museum will also be celebrating the anniversary with a special exhibition, opening on 19 January 2022.
Production of the new 911 Edition 50Y Porsche Design is limited to 750 cars worldwide. It features numerous styling highlights inspired by the iconic designs of F.A. Porsche. In addition to the all-black exterior, familiar leitmotifs include the classic checked Sport-Tex seat centre panels and the red-coloured second-hand of the Porsche Design Subsecond clock in the Sport Chrono Package, which is standard.
Based on the 911 Targa GTS, the new car is powered by an emotive flat-six cylinder, 480 PS, twin-turbocharged, rear-mounted, 3.0-litre engine. Combined with the eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, a maximum speed of 191 mph is possible where permitted. With Launch Control, it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds. A seven-speed manual transmission is offered as an option.
The 911 Edition 50Y Porsche Design is on sale now and will arrive in Porsche Centres from April 2022.

*Data determined in accordance with the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) as required by law. You can find more information on WLTP at www.porsche.com/wltp . For Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) range and Equivalent All Electric Range (EAER) figures are determined with the battery fully charged, using a combination of both battery power and fuel.
Values are provided for comparison only. To the extent that fuel and energy consumption or CO₂ values are given as ranges, these do not relate to a single, individual car and do not constitute part of the offer. Optional features and accessories can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics which may result in a change in fuel or energy consumption and CO₂ values. Vehicle loading, topography, weather and traffic conditions, as well as individual driving styles, can all affect the actual fuel consumption, energy consumption, electrical range, and CO₂ emissions of a car.
